Blue Is High Victorious! Winterhaven Rejoices!

(Originally published in The Winterhaven Herald & Town Crier)

The rumors began swirling days ago. Travelers no longer whispered in hushed tones of the evil rising in the ruined keep. Rather, from the merchants in the Market Square to the lords in the Manor House, excitement grew as high as Valthrun’s Tower. The early reports from journeymen that Kalarel has been defeated have been confirmed. A ragtag band of adventurers calling themselves “Blue Is High” arrived yesterday evening at Wrafton’s Inn spinning tales of gelatinous cubes, statues coming to life, and the downfall of Kalarel. Their stories were as deep as their thirst, and nearly as difficult to quell.

Blue Is High can only be described as a fluid assemblage of adventurers, loosely connected by their desire to do what's right (or what's handsomely rewarded). They employ a fairly creative and effective strategy of rotating their members, apparently to “diversify their talents”. Ravenix took a gamble and wandered into the woods long ago, his whereabouts are still unknown. Drowler apparently suffers from exhaustion and is considering an early retirement. The wizard Falcon is off for a few months to study the mysteries of the arcane. Clandank and the young rogue Theren are ready for more after their first taste of adventure. Friar Jim and Heskan are on a temporary leave of absence at summer camp. Determinus, Determinus?

In desperate need of a leader, the party interviewed some strange Bard named Bojangles who happened to be singing at the Inn. Apparently he has the voice of an angel. (Or was it the choice of an angle?) Finally, an annoying short-statured Sorcerer begged to be included in the party to “bring more blasty blast” to the group.
